After a long pause due to the Covid pandemic, the Palermo conference Mater amabilis returns, the “celebration for the whole family” organized by the Sisters of Beautiful Love.

This year too, awards will be presented to celebrate the values of motherhood and fatherhood, expressed in a variety of ways.

The 2024 award goes to the Sammartino couple. Professor Ina Siviglia and Professor Salvatore Sammartino will share their experience as a family and as parents, first lived in their relationship with their daughter Maria Teresa and made even more fruitful through the trial and suffering of her illness and the loss of their daughter, an experience that has given their life a perhaps unexpected new dimension.

The recognition will also be received by the entrepreneur Luca Soldati, a man who, following a very serious accident, had the chance to encounter another kind of motherhood through his meeting with Sr. Zaira, who accompanied him in taking his life back into his hands and, in turn, in sharing that generative love he had received in an even more intense way, beginning with his own entrepreneurial experience.

Participants will come from all over Italy, as well as from Palermo and Sicily, some even from Germany, and Ukrainian and Lebanese representatives will also be present. From a few days old to 90 years, together, to rediscover the beauty of God who is love, inscribed in the deepest fibers of the human being.

This year, by a happy coincidence, everything will be under the patronage of the “Santuzza”. Saint Rosalia, virgin bride of Christ and mother to every Palermitan who turns to her, in a certain sense welcomes those who arrive in Palermo on the eve of her feast. At the end of the event, as a sign of this bond with such a strong root of our Church and of the communion among the Churches, some Sisters will be present in the Cathedral at the Solemn First Vespers of St. Rosalia, together with a delegation from the Archiepiscopal Ordinariate of Munich and Freising. A bus coming from Zafferana Etnea (CT) will also take part in the prayer and will conclude the day in Palermo with a visit to the tomb of Cardinal Salvatore Pappalardo.

Participation in the event is open to everyone and free of charge. For organizational reasons, if possible, please let us know that you will attend through the WhatsApp contact shown on the poster, where you can also find the program of the day.
