Munich

From the very beginning of the Foundation, the community of the Sisters of Beautiful Love took its first steps in the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising, under the fatherly gaze of the then Cardinal Friedrich Wetter.

The sisters are involved first of all in the Italian Catholic Mission, engaged in pastoral work at the service of the Italian community (about 25,000 people), in collaboration with the community of the Scalabrinian Fathers.

For years they have also been present in the parish community of the Cathedral, in whose halls some of the Institute's typical activities are held in German.

Munich, the capital of Bavaria, is a very beautiful city, rich in culture, with deep religious roots and a strong Marian tradition and devotion (many churches and wayside shrines are dedicated to Our Lady, who is also the patron saint of Bavaria), but it also lives its own tensions and contradictions. Here, our greatest desire is to express our mission in the local Church: "... to cooperate in extending and consolidating the Church-communion..." (Const. art. 2), establishing "relationships of Trinitarian communion among different persons, institutions, associations and groups" (Const. art. 8).
