Point of Light April 2020 - Walking in the night

Dearest brothers and sisters,

let us continue together our journey of deepening the experience of prayer, lived in its inseparable relationship with concrete life, made up of joys and sorrows, of lights and shadows, of moments of purification and growth. What matters is to become ever more docile to the action of the Holy Spirit, who wants to sanctify us. Even when, in certain phases of our life, we should feel overwhelmed by sadness, or have the sensation of going backwards, all this must not discourage us in the least…

I hope the meditation I propose to you will help to shed light on the meaning of certain turning points of the spiritual life, even when we find ourselves advancing in the night: it is chapter III of the second section of the book Itinerario di luce (Itinerary of Light) (pp. 91-100) and the recording on the same theme.[1]

Everything that happens to us is a path of purification and growth on the journey of holiness. God wants to bring good even out of evil; let us look at the events of our personal and social life with faith and hope.

Let us remain united more than ever; Jesus among us is our strength.
