The “St. Thomas” Theological Institute in Messina hosted the presentation of Sr. Nunziella’s book, “Man and Woman Are Not Angels” (L’uomo e la donna non sono angeli).

The warm welcome of the Salesian Fathers, and in particular of the Dean of the Theological Institute, Fr. Giuseppe Cassaro, gave this cultural event a tone of ecclesial communion from the very start.

The importance of the participation of the body in Christian life was emphasized by Fr. Giovanni Russo, Director of the Higher School of Specialization in Bioethics. Starting from some passages of the book, the speaker, with a positive and liberating vision, admirably illustrated the revelatory and prophetic function of God’s Love that our body, with its expressiveness, can assume in the dynamics of relationships. The importance of inner unification, in order to live our human life harmoniously in all its dimensions, was explained by Sr. Antonella Sanfilippo, who did not fail to offer concrete ideas for applying it in daily life.

Also present was Msgr. Angelo Oteri, Episcopal Vicar for Consecrated Life in the Diocese of Messina.

After the contributions of some of the participants, who echoed what had been said with personal experiences, Fr. Cassaro concluded the evening, reaffirming the beauty of our corporeality, seen in the light of the Incarnation of the Word, and the possibility of experiencing it through a path of growth that is certainly demanding, but possible and fulfilling!
